The Fit Back Program aims to inform and educate you towards good health for your back. This program will be taught by Anna-Jane Peterson, Principal Physiotherapist at Physio, Body and Sole in North Sydney.
Thursdays 6 – 7.15pm (6 week program commencing in March)
Back pain effects most people at some time in their lives. It may take only a simple movement to trigger an episode of back pain. In the majority of people such pain is the result of months, even years of poor posture, bad lifting techniques, and a general lack of fitness, particularly lack of stretching.
Each session will include theory in addition to practical exercises. The course will help you learn how to strengthen your back and regain general fitness. It will teach you;
- Basic anatomy – the more you understand the more you can manage your back.
- Correct posture – there are 4 common incorrect postures. We will go through each and how to correct; stretches and strengthening.
- Lifting techniques – good for lifting children, car seats, groceries, awkward large objects.
- Physio, yoga and pilates exercises for mobility and strength – we have the benefit of ALL of these treatment techniques.
Small group classes for individual attention.
